UF Grading Scale

UF grades run from A (4.00 points) to E (0.00 points) on a plus/minus scale, where A- equals 3.67 and B+ equals 3.33. S/U, W, AU, I, H, and NG grades carry no points and don’t factor into GPA at all.

Every letter grade at UF maps to a specific point value, and it’s worth knowing the exact numbers rather than assuming they round to something cleaner. The table below is the full scale used in every GPA calculation across the university, the same values this calculator uses.

GradePointsGradePoints
A4.00C+2.33
A-3.67C2.00
B+3.33C-1.67
B3.00D+1.33
B-2.67D1.00
D-0.67
E0.00

A few grades sit outside this table entirely because they’re not part of the GPA calculation at all: S/U (Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory), W (Withdrew), AU (Audit), I (Incomplete), H (Deferred), and NG (No Grade). None of them add or subtract points, and none of them count toward your GPA credit-hour total either — they simply don’t exist as far as your GPA math is concerned, even though most still show up on your transcript.
